At the family dental practice of Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Batra, and Dr. Smith in Kimball, Michigan, we are pleased to offer dental implants for our patients seeking a natural looking smile after losing a tooth (or several). Losing teeth is not uncommon, whether by tooth decay, gum disease or injury to the mouth. No matter what the cause, our dental implants will allow you to eat, smile, talk and laugh with confidence again.

When a tooth is lost or removed, both the crown–the visible part of the tooth–and the root are gone. Fortunately, dental implants can easily replace missing teeth. Your dental implant is placed into the jawbone to fuse with the natural bone, allowing new teeth to be attached. You can get a dental implant for one tooth, or for multiple missing teeth with a bridge or a denture.

So, how do we replace a missing tooth with a dental implant?

— First, a cylindrical and or tapered post made of titanium typically, is surgically placed into the jawbone to replace the root of your tooth.

— Once the implant has fused your natural jawbone, a connector (called an abutment) is built into the top dental implant. This will connect it to the replacement tooth.

— Finally, a crown (a replacement tooth) is made to match your natural teeth, or even a bridge or dentures supported by the implants.

— To care for your implants, brush and floss regularly, and keep your regular scheduled check-ups and cleanings.

No matter why you are missing teeth, Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Batra, and Dr. Smith are here to help! We will restore your teeth so that you can smile again with confidence.
